I was told by someone this past Sunday that when she visited the church I go to, that she didn't feel that she was being fed. My response was to wonder if knew where the table was. Our sunday morning services are instructional, inspirational and convicting. We have a good band and a gifted leader and I enjoy the music time. But. On a day to day basis, I get so much more at the Bible study I attend each week, where not only do we go through books of the Bible verse by verse, but we share a meal and friendship time. I also get more from the (church sponsored) mission I participate in at an inner-city ministry. I have come to the conclusion that I don't want to stand around like a baby bird with open beak at a Sunday service, waiting for them to drop meat my way. My purpose is to continue to grow and be a light in the world. Don't get me wrong, the group fellowship and worship is wonderful and a great reminder that we are not alone but part of a much larger body of which my Sunday morning gathering is only a small part, but my job is to actively follow God's command to love Him and others. To me that means doing rather than sitting. Church is not just Sunday morning. Nathan, I agree completely.
