Cerberus Reborn…

Ingrid's So, as I sat down to lunch today, I opened up my CR?N/Slice 2.0 link, and what did I find?  Slice has been reborn, separate from CR?N!  Why?  Who really knows…

I then realized that perhaps we had been given a bit of prescience in calling the ChristianResearch?Network “CR?N/Slice 2.0″ before it actually happened!  And then I thought to myself – what kind of dog picture do we get to recognize this new cancerous lesion attempting to attack the body of Christ?  It’s kind of like a three-headed (three = AM, CR?N, Slice 2.0) dog that’s all part of the same body (Ken, Ingrid & Company).

So, I did a search on three-headed dogs and came up with this (at the top of the list):

Cerberus

From the wikipedia entry:

In Greek mythology, Cerberus or Kerberos (Greek Κέρβερος, Kerberos, “demon of the pit”) was the hound of Hades, a monstrous three-headed dog (sometimes said to have 50 or 100 heads) with a snake for a tail.

100% appropriate for this ‘new’ entity of AM + CR?N + SoL 2.0 with the same old body of Ken, Ingrid & Co.  100%.

Regardless, we will remain faithful in responding to one more pharisaical outlet, with the same view as Christ had to those of his day:

I laughed when Ingrid described in her “about section”, the need for more voices to speak out against the heresy in the church today. Pretty funny stuff… we will see if this is just another copy and paste blog, like so many of these are.

At least it’s not another emergent/pomo parody/satire site. Because we all satire is grounds for being smote. Smoted? Smitten?

Ingrid clearly stated one day, in relation to Rick Warren, that not all comments will be posted because Rick Warren already has a big enough voice and Slice does not want to help promote that viewpoint. This of course is her right

That was the day I quit wasting my time because only about 20% of my comments were posted. Slice and CRN are designed to present one point of view and any opposing views on Slice that might be posted are filtered so we should not pretend that it any way is an open discussion site. Again, this is her right but we should recognize it for what it is.

This is why I like CRN.info because all views are welcome for open discussion. Now that is productive.

Like Darren has indicated, I’ve registered and submitted comments to Slice 2.0 (with No Trans Fat) — I doubt the comments get published.

Who has the “Slice 2.0 Banned” banner? I might need one pretty quick.

I didn’t intend to actually go online with this today but while I was working on it, we were discovered by some emergents who apparently were so upset by Slice that four months after it went dark they are still prowling the internet, looking for it. :-) This accelerated my pace a bit. The old archives are currently on a disk waiting to be sorted through. When I have time I will see about getting up the archives that would still be relavent. Thanks, everyone! People have been “prowling”? She posted a link on CRN!!! I’m not going to dignify that with a response at 2.0. Then again, maybe I will, and I’ll be the first one banned from Slice 2.0!

My comment got posted on the Slice 2.0 site — probably just for cannon fodder, but we’ll see.

Not only did she post the link, but some people (maybe even me) were probably getting to CRN by using the old “sliceoflaodicea” domain name – which was taking people directly to CRN – and would have just happened upon Slice 2.0 when attempting to see the latest discernment from CRN.

I’ve never updated my links to Slice 1.0, so I was rather suprised when I went to take a look at the latest “discernment” on CR?N and ended up on an ACTUAL Slice 2.0! It took me a few seconds to register what had gone wrong (literally).

I missed this exchange, but it looks like Chris P is wetting his pants? I suppose we can add “bed-wetting” to the list of ideas supported by CR?N, but it’s a strange addition…
