Have you seen the many CrossTV videos on CRN?  What do you think about them?  It’s probably about the only modern technology that these people would allow into the church.  I for one think that the creepy voice with a British accent that reads the scriptures  could go.  Why  does Jesus and scripture readers in Christian movies always have to to speak in british accents?  Oh well… gimme your thoughts.

They seem a little condescending to me — not really the best way to communicate if you really want people to listen.

Hey – I’m british and I always hear Jesus speak with a British accent in my head. I thought that was normal!

Well,
I like them. They are professionally done. I don’t necessarily agree with all that they conclude but I like the fact that they are done with civility. If CRN and SoL copied their tone, who knows, we might actually find ourselves finding common ground on occasion?

Now there’s a concept. . .

I agree with the civility part

The stuff that I have seen on Cross is pretty good, I wish I had that over TBN or DayStar. I am not a big fan of the Faith movement now that I have done some research on it.

BTW I think the guy that does the scripture is Max Mclean, he does the Listeners Bible, I like him a lot. Maybe is it now the correct person.

Actually, his name is Mark Kielar. Here is a picture of him and his board of directors: http://www.crossinternational.org/index.php?submenu=AboutUs&src=gendocs&link=AboutUs

Even more interesting is the rather eclectic nature of the board. Given Ken’s distaste for all things Catholic, I wonder how he would feel about Bishop Jacobs being front and center?

Why does Jesus and scripture readers in Christian movies always have to to speak in british accents?

Insert self-serving plug here: I can’t answer that, but that issue is a large part of what led me to the conclusion that I need to create the Just Some Guy Audio Bible

Hey, Nathan can you point us directly to one or two? I try not to spend too much time at CRN, and my perusal so far has rendered bupkus.

Take your time; my visit over there means that I gotta go shower now.

I haven’t seen any, but if a Catholic is on the board I don’t support it.

Sorry.
