Besides the unfortunate impression of a specific and divine literary direction, I have found in my own experience I have much more to apologize for than I actually think. Oh well, that’s just me and Adam.

I actually don’t have anything against what he said… it is the actions that follow that I see is sin and hurts his brothers and sisters in the Lord.

I offend often… the Cross can be an offense… yet I really have no right to hold myself up as the standard… which is what Ken had done.

I prefer to look at the perfect that is Christ Jesus and know that though imperfect i am loved. I rejoice that God has chosen out of His Love to show mankind mercy and give Grace… in that I see I must in turn do the same. (This is a major value in the emergent/emerging conversation)

So I worship and honor my Lord in loving Him and others… and even in that some will find offense… because they want to prove their own righteousness is enough to please God.

So… the straightmen itself is not bad… it is what follows it that brings me to tears for the hurt some “christians” seem to think they must afflict on others… especially their own brothers and sisters.

The answer to that is a resounding yes. The SoL/??N crowd is all about personality, not ideas. Just look at Ken’s assertion in the “double standard” post that his Sunday school class masquerading as a church follows his internet battling closely enough to laugh whenever someone points out that he’s an angry, petty man. Or look at the complete and total lack of criticism of John MacArthur he has done the exact same thing as others who were criticized roundly. These aren’t the actions of a people who are driven by sound theology. It is the actions of people who are driven by personalities.

Another example is the Slice crowd criticizing Beth Moore for conference admission charges but failing to realize that MacArther’s conference does the same thing.

Do you see a pattern? Beth Moore and Swindoll have been linked to contemplative spirituality so that opens the door to attack everything they do. The Fundamentalist get a pass.

I apologize, Tim. I read the link and once I was blind but now I see. This brand of hypocrisy is very evident within the orthodox group, of which I am a member. The latest example is the pass given to Walter Martin’s daughter.

The slippery cascade labeled “compromise”, if used against a person for once removed associations or unrealized compromise by a business relationship, would doom all of us.

Does google give porn site information? Does this blog company or mine set up mormon websites or sexually explicit sites? Does the paper company that you use for letter head sell to infidels? You see, we all are compromisers when you go that far.

But when your guest blog overseer says something ecumentical on your site and you do not respond, you are a respector of persons. If Nathan posted an article on this site that said “I Now Believe Bell is an Heretic”, would anyone here respond? Surely they would. So in the matter of consistency, CRN.info wins over SOL.

You can be correct and still be wrong.
