To quote our friends at TeamPyro, “Once again, the dogs who yelp are the dogs who were hit.”

I’m not an old man but in my 45 years, I have never seen such a childish group as these ODM’s and I’m sad that it comes from those calling themselves Christian.

Has anybody else noticed that Slice is down?

In a metaphor I noticed their decent long ago.

Yeah, I noticed that. I wonder if they were hacked. It looks like someone just deleted the actual Wordpress files. Either that or Ingrid got sick of all her “contributers” doing nothing but linking to their own sites.

That’s funny. In a major applewhite sorta way.

Everbody knows that Ken is happy that he got called out in a major Christian publication.

Actually, Ken is managing Slice this week in Ingrid’s absence, so I’m guessing that the guest-manager botched something (not that he’d actually admit specific error or anything…)

And less than half the article in we read what the prophet teacher is so in a ruffle about.

Well, a little background research into David Aikman gives us further reason why he would find disturbing the visibility that God has given to men like me who believe in the Biblical Reformed doctrines of grace.

Once again: “God gave it to me”. The default position that takes all dialogue off the table.
Don’t be angry with Ken it’s God that makes him act the way he does.

Chris L,
If it was an error, its not one you can make from within Wordpress. It would have required FTP access or some other way to manipulate the files on the server itself.

Wow, is Ken actually sneering at Trinity Forum, which claims one of my heroes, Os Guinness as one of its founders? Maybe it’s the connection to the Irish brewery that raises Ken’s hackles.

That, or they use too many big words. Why are the ODMs so threatened by intellectuals?

Tim,

Your assessment is correct – and it looks like the images were all hosted on the site (and some have been used this week), so he would have had to have that type of access…

I always back-up before I mess with the actual files here…

Maybe Jesus appeared to her while she was on vacation and asker her, like he asked Paul, “why are you persecuting me?”

No?

You know, Dallas Willard is connected to Trinity Forum.

That’s a no-no, as well.

Os Guinness is one of my favorite writers, too.

Sneering is the correct word.

Botched is also the right word. On many levels.

Ken wrote, “The main point of David Aikman’s article The Attack Dogs of Christendom is, ‘No attribute of civilized life seems more under attack than civility.’”

and

“Well, a little background research into David Aikman gives us further reason why he would find disturbing the visibility that God has given to men like me who believe in the Biblical Reformed doctrines of grace.”

I think Aikman’s main point is this: “A troll through the Internet reveals websites so drenched in sarcasm and animosity that an agnostic, or a follower of another faith tradition interested in what it means to become a Christian, might be permanently disillusioned.”

So regardless of his background, the main point is whether or not, “they will know us by our love.”

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. – John 13:34-35

Press On,
Darren

LOL!

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another…”

Right Darren but what you guys in the new evangelical Love Shack don’t get is the One Who gave that command also said:

“Where I am going you cannot come…you children of the devil…you will look for Me but you will not find Me…you will die in your sins…you brood of vipers.”

Grow up so you can press on.

Ken,

I find it hard to take council about spiritual maturity from someone who is so crass and flippant. Your response is evidence in support of Aikman’s article. His article was not about theological perspective, it was about Christians acting un-Christian.

Perhaps you think the article was an attack on your speaking for Biblical truth, but it was really about spiritual immaturity. I think Aikman was speaking on solid Biblical ground.

I challenge you to listen to John MacArthur and how he speaks to people with whom he disagrees, such as on Larry King. While remaining firm in his position, he is respectul and exhibits a Christlike demeanor.

Let’s all grow up and press on,
Darren

Ken,

“Where I am going you cannot come…you children of the devil…you will look for Me but you will not find Me…you will die in your sins…you brood of vipers.”

Jesus was talking to the spiritually proud… ahem…. like you…

For those of us in Christ it is not a suggestion to love one another… it is a given… in fact to not do so shows one is not saved… (ponder that if you can…)

Be Blessed,
iggy
