Is it the pastor's calling to attract? Is not his calling to minister and teach to believers obedience? To encourage us toward our sanctification?

There are a multitude of Church members in comparison to pastors, we as regular, everyday, go-to-work people have Monday through Sunday to witness and live obedient holy lives before the world and I know I fall way short of my responabilities. It seems we have put the responsability on the Church.

Which problem is worse.... The pastor who uses absurd methodology to attract and then obstains from giving the true gospel or the believers who sit week in and week out under his teaching?

There is no doubt that many churches are going to absurd extremes in methodology in order to attract people. And I've been at churches where the Pastor seems more like an advertising agent rather than God's conduit. I do not know about this church but we must be careful about how we draw people except if when they come they get the clear gospel.

Jesus gave away fish sandwiches but when they came they got Him.

BTW the real laugh is that one has to do a snap shot of Jim's blog as he will redirect people from any site that is critical of what he teaches...

I wonder, is he ashamed of the Gospel he professes?

It seems so... by his actions.

be blessed,
iggy

"Of course this was written after Jim’s commentary, but I’m sure if Jim was just mistaken rather than malicious we’ll see an update shortly apologizing for his mistake and retracting his comments."

ROTFLOL!

ooops! Did I do that out loud?

Note to self... internal dialog does not need to come out mouth...repeat... internal dialog does not need to come out mouth...

Blessings,
iggy
