Why is anyone surprised by anything that roman catholics do, since they place magesterial dogma above scripture.

It’s not that I’m surprised – I think “puzzled” is a better word. We have one RCC group auctioning off ‘Pieces of the Pope’ (or at least his garments), and another RCC group wringing their hands (but doing little else) that this smacks of ‘relics’ and ‘indulgences’. I thought the whole purpose of their extra-Biblical bureaucracy was to have control over stuff like this…
