I&#039;ve read other &quot;corrections&quot; of the stereotype that focus on &quot;inn.&quot;  These said a better translations would be &quot;guest quarter.&quot;  Since Joseph probably had relative in Bethlehem, they would have put them up if they could - but their spare rooms were full.  That&#039;s why they were in temporary quarters.

Unfortunately, many churches this year will once again portray the event as a young couple on the road unable to find a hotel &#039;cause they didn&#039;t make reservations.
