Ken Silva writes:

Kind of duck and cover time for Christians being accosted by…well, other Christians.

Yeah, its a real shame when Christians attack other Christians. Next thing you’ll be telling is that there’s an entire online cottage industry devoted to nothing but Christians attacking other Christians. Why they might even call themselves “pastor-teachers”, or “Reverend” and they could even go so far as to regularly lie about other Christians.

Whoo, now that’s a grim alternate reality that we can all be thankful hasn’t come to pass.

I should really email Ken and tell him I’m sending him the bill for my new hypocrisy meter, as he broke mine with that post.

“totally tubular Tadd.”

That post made me laugh really hard. I have a warped sense of humor, sorry.

For some reason, this reminded me of this article from VS…

I’m really tired of Ken doing the whole lead guitarist pastor line. If he’s going to keep railing on people I wish he would at least get a new punchline.

And the whole “God’s been rocking my world on this one” being sexual is beyond my comprehension.

I don’t understand the lead guitarist thing. I thought Ken used to write powerful music and do stand up comedy. Is being a guitarist bad? So weird.

Oddly enough I do serve as a pastor and lead guitarist for our campus church at the present time. Is that verboten?

AND your last name is the same as a beverage served in many bars where fornication, adultery and all sorts of illicit behavior occur. Coincidence?

Darn it Joe! You found me out!

Honestly, if I’m in on that, I’ve yet to see any of that money…

Seriously though, it’s funny you bring that up. I was talking to a friend who recently did a church plant here, and one the people that was coming to his church (the person just moved away) was the local Budweiser rep for the bars in town. Now the rep for Philip-Morris has started coming. We were just talking about how people like that would be received in more traditional congregations.

Phil,
Are they going to form their own Merchants of Death small group?

Tim,
Yeah, they’re just waiting for the guys from the tatoo parlor and hookah lounge to have some time freed up in their schedules…

(high pitched tantrum voice of a 5 years old)
oooooooooooooooh! It’s just soooooooooooooooooooo hard to take my own medicine!!!!

Whatever.
It doesn’t feel good, does it?
And the sad thing is that the critiques he receives are about his “content” not who he is as a person.

That’s the difference.

But anyone who defends him can’t handle it and takes it all so personally.

Too much of people’s personal identity is wrapped up in ‘being right’ about this junk.

The “rocking my world” being a sexual refrence doesn’t make sense to me in the slightest, I guess in Ken’s culture or circle of friends this apparantly is used in a dirty way..

..but then again I get the idea that Ken and I speak a whole different language sometimes period.

Even in the rest of the post where he seems to have a problem with stoked and freakin awesome in the way he seems to be making fun of the guy. That’s not hip, thats just the way people talk outside Ken’s circle.

Can somebody point me to the list of unhip, irrelevant words so I can make myself seem holy or mature enough, cause last I checked God didn’t write a phrase book…

…I should just leave a post open until I’m done all my thoughts, sorry for the triple post :)

But I also think that instead of chewing this guy out, Ken should thank this guy for giving him such an apt and appropriate new title he can use when he’s done calling his site Christian Reaserch Network…

I hope he took some time to pray and truly seek God as to why his post was so off… and that is why he deleted it. It would be hard to be so confronted with a post that has all fingers pointed at himself…

My prayers of blessings are still out there for you Ken.

This thread makes me want to break out into a song,

“Forced to think that hell is a place called home
Nothin’ else to do but some get some clothes and pack
She says shes bout to run away and never come back.
Runaway love
Runaway love
Runaway love
Runaway love”

I bet if I could get somebody to sing it that song would make money. Maybe Mary J.

OR

Eye-Ron-ICK-Met-er
