A Watchdawggie's True StripesBrace yourself, folks. The Keningrid machine is churning out another worthless label of libel.

If you haven’t yet grown tired of the (over)use of Ecumenical Church of Deceit, the Apostate Church of Rome, the Spell of Bell, Purpose Drivel, and about 500 other worthless labels which amount to nothing more than libelous name-calling from Online “Discernment” Ministries (ODM’s), there’s a new term in town (full of brotherly love, I’m sure), fresh and ready to be run into the ground:

Christian Agnostic

Apparently, to be one of these, you have to 1) not be Calvinist; and 2) not be Arminian. (And apparently, you don’t have to know what ‘postmodern’ means, you just have to be able to spell it and apply it to anyone that disagrees with you, postmodern or not…)

It seems to be that the ODM’s have decided to just drop any pretense of discernment and just go with “another gospel”…

I think they’re using this helpful tool to come up these names.

I think we should add a new page to this blog and call it the “glossary” — it could have all of the words, phrases and abbreviations they use, we use, and so on.

It could also be a hilarious read.

We should have a glossary.

If you’re serious about this, I could start one.

I suspect it would be a bear to keep up-to-date, but we could try it…

Webster’s defines agnostic as someone who holds that the essential nature of things are unknown or unknowable. Certainly when it comes to God and how he actually interacts with mankind restricted as we are by space and time, I would call myself a “Christian agnostic” in the sense that I will never be able to explain what I know to be true. I am reminded of Isaiah 55 when God opines that His thoughts and ways are in the final analysis, not understandable but prefaces that with the injunction to: “Seek the Lord while he may be found.” Isn’t that interesting? Basically, a recommendation to return to the Lord and find “inexplicable” pardon.

So with Chris, I “know” God’s essential nature is love, but I will never be able to “explain” it.

I know that essential love was embodied in the Word made flesh, but I will never be able to explain it.

I know that God is completely in control of past, present, and future, but I also know that I am called to believe in Him of my own free will and petition him in prayer for my daily bread.

But, I will never be able to explain it.

Well guys, the next logical step for them is very plain to see. It requires only a small stretch of logic on their part.

“Christian Atheist”

See, the Christian Agnostic comes from not believing Calvinism or Arminianism, so says them, and then now all they have to do is insinuate that if you disagree with them on Reformed Theology, which is the only Truth, then you’re a heretic and not a Christian. A “practical” Atheist, they’ll say. Since you call yourself “Christian”, they’ll develop the label, “Christian Atheist” to fit the bill. Simple.

I called it. You just wait.

Or perhaps this will prevent them from using this term all together, and thus prevent them from slandering and swearing at more people.

Either way…

Joe

You, Chris L., are awesome.

I’ve already lodged two complaints on what you did wrong in the glossary.

(I just want you to feel at home amidst the wolves and shrieking demons.)

I do?

Oh, sure. That’s right.

Now, let me think on what to add…
