Deborah,

I cannot answer the question - but, I can say: We bumped that post to the top when it was in danger of being bumped to the second page. Any new posts will be on top of it as usual. By the time it gets to the bottom again we may be ready to just let it do so.

While this post is kept at the top, is it possible to add a listing of "new posts" in the sidebar above the categories? It would speed up identifying new articles without having to scroll through this post. Thanks.

I added the "UPDATE" at the end of the post to reflect that fact that we have changed the time stamp. I think it important that all know when the post was originally posted so they can keep it in a chronological context

Neil,
You can just keep changing the timestamp to a newer time. There's some plugins that'll force it to the top but if its a temporary measure tehre's no reason to do that.

I think it unfortunate that this won't see too many more comments than this few.

OK you Wordpress geeks...Is there a way to keep this near the top, or on the front page for a while? As we add posts it moves to the bottom. I think it should remain prominent for a few days two a week.
