Phil,

I pulled this from my notes from a paper I was working on last year, but I'm pretty sure it was from Wilson's book, though it could be from Moseley's Yeshua, which was the other key source material... I've lent out my copy of Our Father Abraham, but I will check Moseley (as I think I got it back from my friend who has OFA)...

______

Andy,

I think the key event in the change in Rabbinic tradition was the destruction of the Temple in 70 A.D., after which the entire model switched into something much more like today (where Rabbis were attached to local synagogues, rather than being itinerate healers and teachers), with probably the biggest exception being Akiva, though most Jewish scholars place him in the tannanim, which were different than the pre-70 A.D. rabbis.

Chris,
I was wondering if the reference your giving about miracles isn't from another book in your library. I don't recall that in Our Father Abraham. Actually, I tried looking it up in the index last night, and didn't see anything. That's very interesting, though.

By the way, I love the Choni the Circle Drawer. My wife and I were just talking about that the other day.

Hi Chris interesting post ? Would you say its possible for a Rabbi to have s’mikah after Jesus died on the cross, not a Christian i mean a Jewish believer..

Its a gift from God right?,so would that Gift ended once they didn't accept Christ?
