The difference between Mike Corley and the ODMs is that Mike is a genuinely nice guy who you can have a healthy and productive disagreement with.

Mike is the Mark Driscoll of the ODMs He can run with both crowds, and still be edgy in all of them

I believe I have listened to three of Driscoll’s sermons and have read more than that of his writings. I believe my “raving” characterization is generous. Don’t make me break out the heavy verbiage, Tim, or worse yet make a statement along the lines of “although Pastor Driscoll echews the emergent label, he still must be placed in the “Tim Reed” vein af evangelicalism.

He may want to run back to “emergent”!

Mike, I do not consider you an ODM in the same way as some others, however you are difficult to catagorize. I think you are very strong sometimes and then you are surprisingly benign at other times. I mostly enjoy your blog and with my observation of the mercurial nature of your perseptions I guess I would say that you are laboring to be fair.

If I had your energy I would have tuled the world by now!

PS When will you guys take me out of this ridiculous catergory of ODM? I would prefer to be simply known in the minister catergory.

I think my thoughts on the Mark’s ministry have been clearly documented, and for anyone who cares to know what my opinions are can visit my blog site. Is he controversial?…yes. Does he say things that are “edgy”?…yes. Has or does you do or say things that he wished later he had not said, or have stated differently?…yes. Is he emergent is the vain of McLaren, Pagitt, Bell and Jones?….no he isn’t. He is striving to be faithful and is committed to to the Gospel?…Yes I believe he is.

Don’t expect the controversy to go away any time soon though.

Rick, how much of Driscoll have you listened to? While he does rave from time to time, I doubt you could characterize him as raving.

And though he is a heretical Calvinist, he’s no more heretical than the average Calvinist.
