Hmm. I’m a little confused about who you are angry with in your reply. When you say ‘this is just nasty vitriol’ are refering to the post or to Pastor Silva? When you say ‘what you say is spot on’ are you referring to the post or to Pastor Silva? I don’t know you yet, so help me learn. I don’t think anything I said in the original post was all that vitriolic–perhaps sarcastic and tongue in cheek, and truthful, but hardly full of vitriol.

BTW, did you see what Pastor Silva said to me? He said we are, and I quote, ‘not friends.’ That’s vitriol. You might say, along the lines of Rick’s reply above, that Pastor Silva and I are not at the ‘let’s do lunch phase of our friendship,’ but I assure you I am working on it even if he is not.

maybe he is upset that you did not use his entire title… pastor/teacher/general editor/mentored by Walter Martin/discernment extraordinaire/leader of an Internet congregation or whatever that title he has bestowed himself.

He has no qualms in attacking other pastors and mocking them… so I don’t see his issue at all about this… other than to show once again he has one standard for others he does not keep himself…

I agree with you. I will stop pointing out the hypocrisy of others. Oh, you should see that essay I wrote yesterday about discernment and birds and how I call attention to myself as a real hypocrite, etc.

I’m not sure “fascinating” is the word I’d pick for it, lol!

I just wrote that comment because I’ve been realizing lately how perfect I always try to be and it doesn’t always work . . . and when people loudly point it out to me it makes me feel about 10 times worse.

That’s why I feel everyone else’s frustration when people go back and forth pointing out each other’s hypocrisies–I get it, I get it! We all get the point! Pointing fingers and placing blame will never solve anything. We need love and peace and I’m starting to sound like a hippie so I’ll just stop right now.
