It sounds like Ken might be reading Rob Bell’s material as much or more than most on this site and you would expect that. You can’t speak authoritatively against something you haven’t read. That would be worse than slander. But, then again, maybe the Lord led Ken to do what the law would not allow or, for that matter, the third commandment.

Scotty – that was a good point. I have noticed the lack of pushing Bell on this blog. I do not care for Bell either, and yet I do not dwell on him. I refused to be consumed with anyone, and I ask the Spirit to help me be consumed with Jesus.

There has been a couple threads recently where Chris Lyons has openly gone against what Bell believes. I have it from a good source that is why Joe Marino resigned!! (I crack myself up sometimes!)

PB: commenters will jump to the defense of Rob Bell, and demand that the Christian world would embrace his superior teachings, almost elevating his writing and preaching to the level of the Holy Scripture itself, all while insulting a brother in Christ, tearing him down and mocking him because he stands for sola scriptura.

I’m not a Bell fan either, PB. I haven’t read any of his works as is the case with iggy.

I see no one here demanding that I should “embrace his superior teachings” You’re trying to make a fire where there isn’t even a spark!!

Ken stands for sola scripura, so? Many of us in the “AMEN” choir here, do too!

And considering the amount of Ken’s (and your) theology that is lifted directly from Calvin’s Institutes, pretending that either of you stand for sola scriptura is the height of hilarity.

Actually they are not even that close to what Calvin taught…

Funny I have yet to read a Rob Bell book… but I have read the excerpts which are in question and what you state as well as others are lies… so I do not idolize Bell… but will defend a brother from lies.

Try again… you keep coming up short.Or apologize for being divisive and bearing false witness against others.
