There are a great number of blog posts on the internet that have caused problems. Many writers for blogs, including us, have times where we don’t proofread, revise, or mull over what we have written. This is akin to (and some of it may actually be) stream of consciousness writing, where everything we think is written down. This is fine as a literary device for fictional and artistic work, but it can be a detriment to non-fiction writing that seeks to inform, encourage, reprove, challenge, and/or bring about change in others (among other things).
Because this blog and many of the ones we interact with have a purpose and because the posts contained therein often have an even more specific or refined goal, it is good for all of us who write to consider these questions (not original to me) before you hit the post/publish/submit button:
- Is what I wrote clear?
- Is it concise?
- Is it coherent?
- Is it considerate?
- Is it correct?
May God bless your writing as you seek to communicate well.

I don’t think I write very well so this is a good reminder/checklist for me. Thanks.
Joe
THE FRUEH CHECKLIST
1. Make sure you are writing completely directed from God.
Speaking of writing, there are internet articles on Freemasonary and The Way International.
Miley Cyrus and Katie Perry must be on vacation. (Ken doesn’t post on that nonsense)
Here is some good writing:
Notre Dame crushed Michigan and it is my intense hope that both Joe Martino and Pastorboy have heard the good news.
Rick, take your thread derailing football propaganda somewhere else. Nobody matters but Ohio State.
Joe, it is a great checklist… if we use it. Many (not all) of us know how to do these things, there are just many reasons we don’t. From being lazy to just being in a bad mood. So it’s good to have the list to point to.
I saw ND crush Michigan…
and it was lovely.
Too bad your offense didn’t do it.
Is what I wrote clear?
As crystal
Is it concise?
When it needs to be.
Is it coherent?
Always
Is it considerate?
Irrelevant
Is it correct?
Hmmmmm………..
A little more impressive is the drubbing USC is giving to “number 5″ Ohio State.
Whoa, Whoa, Whoa! Joe is not a Michigan boy. He lives here now because God called him here. He went to a game there because a friend bought him a ticket. He cheered for them that day because it would be bad form to not cheer for them. He may cheer for them whenever they’re not playing Penn State, but he is first foremost and always will be a Nittany Lion. WE ARE PENN STATE!
I was glad to see ND actually be able to figure out which way they were supposed to go.
#5 Christian,
USC just made Ohio State no longer matter.
I am so sorry. They can join Michigan in the obscurity bowl later on this year.
And yesterdays events made the ND/USC matchup later this year even more interesting.
Here is hoping Rick learns the rouser and looks good in maroon and gold.
Good thoughts, Christian!
My biggest problem is usually the “concise” part…
Here’s another:
T = is it true?
H = is it helpful?
I = is it important?
N = is it necessary?
K = is it kind?
THINK before you speak (write).
I prefer writing good.
“I prefer writing good”
Or maybe..well?
