Friends,

‘The world of earth is one great scene of spiritual strain and anguish, whose moans would drown the music of the morning stars, if there were not eternity to unfold the mystery, and to reveal that at the heart of it all there is ineffable and infinite love’. – James Baldwin Brown, The Doctrine of Annihilation in the Light of the Gospel of Love (London: Henry S. King & Co., 1875), 66.

I thought perhaps we could all use a bit of encouragement today.

John,

I honestly did not even look at the date when I reposted that quote. I liked it because it digs deep and exposes what our hearts truly long for: Love. The date is superfluous.

God loves, but also God is love. His being, the substance of His eternal deity is love. But God only loves man through redemption. God loves all men through His Son, and without the cross God does not love.

Jerry,

Just a little ODM humor. We all know they don’t approve of any expositor born prior to 1900. :-)
