I am proud of my alma mater. I think that 25 years ago when I attended there this might not have happened. Praise God that this school was allowed, even encouraged, moving out of the graceless desert of fundamentalism.

Who says “lifestyle evangelism” doesn’t work?

I just finished “The Year of Living Biblically” (thanks for the recommendation, Phil). Zan told me that A.J. Jacobs (who wrote The Year) took Kevin Roose with him to Liberty as part of his own research into the Christian culture, and served as the inspiration for this project.

I’ve added this book to my Amazon wish-list. (With any luck, my wife might read this article and pick it up…

The last part of the article really made me think about the ‘entertaining angels unaware’ – and that my actions should be the same toward all men, not just believers…

I’m a liberty grad, and I was really really blessed by this book.

The highlight of the entire book is when he gets schooled in the “way of the master” evangelism tactics, and then takes them to daytona to try open air evangelism.

It’s really quite a fascinating read.

“I never expected the people here to apply the principles of their belief to their lives in such a real way.”

I fail often, but since I became “born again”, this has always been my understanding of “preaching the Gospel”. I realize this statement is not technically “THE GOSPEL”; but how long are Christians going to keep fighting over the right words and formula to say that Christ suffered, died, and rose again to save us from sin and death. Just believe it and get over yourself! Why keep fighting over who can prepare the best 45 minute sermon version of “THE GOSPEL”?

Apparently these young college students are preaching the gospel just fine by reading the bible and following Jesus. I’m not really a philosophical type, but this story is a “real” example that Grace does not destroy nature, Grace perfects nature.
