I don't believe that the Chris P who spoke in comment 1 is the Chris P who writes the blog you referenced elsewhere Rick. There just ain't no way they are the same person. I read his blog and he has some good stuff there. I even left him a comment on one of his posts telling him so. I just don't believe that a person of God could be filled with all that.

Right, Brendt, I don't think Eldredge is talking about us going around and tooting our own horn. He says it is a 'reflected glory.' Which means it isn't ours to begin with; never was.

i heard it said something like this . . . humility is have a proper view of one's self. not viewing one's self too highly, or too lowly.

so it is walking in the fullness that God created to YOU to be. not anything more. and not anything less.

Chris P.,

I detect some anger in you, my brother in Christ, I'm sorry this affects you.

Someone once told me that false humility is the ugly step-sister of pride. Sounds very similar to what Eldredge is talking about here.

If we deny the reflected glory that God has placed in us, then we are denying the very glory of God.

Isa 53:7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth.

The humble one is silent about himself;
unlike the pious blether this blog spews. The only way you can say less, is to keep talking/writing.
