i really like this song by Steve Taylor. it definitely shows how his music matured over the years.
as far as the message is concerned it’s also one that strikes me as well. the phrase addressing the attitude that “i deserve better” is a good reminder and one i need constantly.
All the more reason for him to put down the camera and get behind that microphone again. It’s been 17 years since “Squint”.
isn’t he producing as well?
OK, put down the camera and get on the OTHER side of that soundboard.
agreed… or at least plan a reunion tour.
Taylor did do some co-writing with his production for a while — probably his best work (and most obviously Taylor-esque) was on Guardian’s “Bottle Rocket” record.
A reunion tour would be a nice second, if we can’t squeeze him back in the studio. Given the name “Some Band”, he could hire almost anyone.
Just so long as it’s an actual tour, and not one of those one-shot reunion gigs at C-Stone.
what has he done behind the camera?
He directed “The Second Chance” and is working on directing a semi-fictionalization of Donald Miller’s “Blue Like Jazz”.
wow – i completely missed that…
